Divine Proportion: The Horse as Composition

"Having no access to a human model, I found myself transposing from figure drawing to the horse. It was exciting to indulge in the beauty of the form and movement of horses. They are still primarily compositions at this point. In these early paintings I was incorporating the dressage arena as a start to the composition."
